Dr Florin I. Popa graduated with MBBS from the University of New South Wales.

After working in St Vincent's and Westmead Hospital for four years, he joined the RACGP Training Program and was later awarded the Fellowship (FRACGP). His career as a general practitioner has seen him working in Winston Hills, Hornsby, Hurstville and other suburban general practices. Since 2014, he has practiced at Health First.

His academic work includes eight years as a Registrar Training Supervisor and six years as Examiner for RACGP.

At a time where there are tens of specialties and sub specialties, Dr Popa still believes that a good general practitioner should have a reasonable competence in all aspects of medical science. Someone has to look after the patient, in the end!

Dr Popa also speaks Romanian, German and Spanish.
